My story, the backstory behind Bidwell Park wildflowers is really simple. I created a space to share images captured during one of my three main photography projects. The goal of the site and my images is to bring more interest to the wildflower bloom that occurs annually in the park and help to reveal some of the many wildflowers that bloom in Upper Bidwell Park. My approach to capturing images with this project is to step a bit closer, and attempt to capture and image that can be viewed as art. I also capture images to showcase flowers that are trailside, along with sunsets, waterfalls, dandelions, thistle and reflections as I come across them on my walks through the park.

AI generated image of me (I stated, “photographer looking through lens”), and got this, so then I changed the color of the bark to a shade I like!

As a Chico native, I have played, swam, splashed, hiked, biked BBQ’d and explored Bidwell Park many times over the decades. I have enjoyed the wildflowers that bloom in its upper reaches, so a photo project of them was a natural progression. I hope you enjoy the site and start chasing wildflowers in Upper Bidwell Park!
